At Mars, we believe the world we want tomorrow starts with how we do business today. With this in mind our Associates participate in annual Mars Volunteer Program (MVP).The MVP is a powerful example of how we put The Five Principles into action in the communities that are at the heart of our business, our sourcing and operating communities. This worldwide initiative unleashes the positive power of our greatest assets: our Associates. In 2017, more than 23,000 Associates from 282 sites volunteered over 100,000 hours. Some 130,000 people and more than 100,000 pets globally were positively impacted.

At the Mars Global Food Safety Center (GFSC), our Associates love fitness, leading a positive and healthy life and giving back to the communities in which we operate. On September 11th, Mars GFSC Associates joined the Mars China 2020 plogging MVP activity. "Plogging"(捡跑),is a very popular sport among environmentalists and society. The activity combines a public service activity and fitness, not only helping to clean up our environment, but also provides a great activity for your health and wellness. This is the first time that the GFSC held a Mars plogging eventand it is just the start!

The Mars GFSC held the plogging event around local Yanqi lake. Throughout the afternoon, Associates did their best to keep clean up the park and lake, also keep the environment healthy.

The GFSC group also influenced the public with their actions and more and more people joined in the clean-up efforts.

One very special guest joined us to help clean and plog, at only one year old! He joined us for the afternoon with his parents to help make the park more beautiful. We believe the work we do and giving back to the communities is so important for future generations, his presence reminded us how we can make an impact.
