At Mars we believe in a better world tomorrow where everyone is thriving, and through the Mars GFSC our goal is to help drive positive change in global food safety, tackling critical food safety challenges across the world to help ensure safe food for all. Since our creation in 2015 we have established a global network of food safety experts to help drive action in our three critical food safety program areas of mycotoxin risk mitigation, pathogen risk mitigation, and food integrity (food fraud, contaminants).

The Mars GFSC is equipped world class laboratory space, divided into microbiology labs, analytical labs and our training lab.
For example, our analytical labs are equipped with analytical instruments for comprehensive sample preparation and multi-platform detection, including a range of chromatographic instruments, including gas chromatography (GC), high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC) and on-line high-performance liquid chromatography-gas chromatography (HPLC-GC) systems.

Food safety training to protect our business
Visit our dedicated training lab – fully equipped with biological safety cabinets and developed to the same safety management level as our biosafety levels 2 microbiology labs. Here we host hands-on microbiology training, in addition to knowledge-sharing sessions. By conducting live training such as this with partners and suppliers we are helping to de-risk the supply chain for the benefit of the business, and beyond.
